attendo vs. Zendesk: which one fits you

Both are good products and they solve different problems. Zendesk is one of the leading help desks on the market. attendo includes a help desk and keeps going after it: the work order, the technician, the spare part and the delivery note that goes to your ERP. Here is the difference, with no tricks.

What it does well

What Zendesk is good at

No irony: it is an industry standard for good reasons.

  • Very polished ticketing, with many years of track record in customer service.
  • A very broad integration marketplace.
  • Mature self-service and knowledge base.
  • A global brand: nobody will question the choice.
  • If your support is fully digital and high-volume, it is hard to do better.

Where it ends

Where it falls short

The problem is not what Zendesk does badly. It is where it ends.

A ticket comes in, gets classified and gets answered: perfect. But in many companies there comes a point when the ticket stops being a conversation and becomes physical work: going to a site, checking equipment, replacing a part, logging the hours and invoicing it.

That is where the second program starts. And with it, the usual problem: the same customer in two databases and nobody who knows whether that customer is profitable.

When to choose each one

The part other comparisons skip

We start with when Zendesk is the better choice. If that sounds like you, you can stop reading here.

When to choose Zendesk

  • Your support is fully digital and you never send anyone to a site.
  • You handle a high volume of low-complexity tickets.
  • You depend on specific integrations from its marketplace.
  • Your team already knows it inside out and switching is not worth it.

If that is you, do not switch. Seriously.

When to choose attendo

  • When the ticket ends in a site visit, a spare part and a delivery note.
  • When you maintain your customers’ equipment or facilities.
  • When you need to know whether a customer is profitable, not just how many tickets they opened.
  • When you have technicians in the field.
  • When you want support, maintenance and sales in one place.

How to migrate

How to move from Zendesk to attendo

Four steps, and nothing gets switched off until the new setup works.

  1. Step 1

    You export from Zendesk

Users, organizations and whatever you want to keep from your tickets.

  2. Step 2

    We import your customer base

Customers, contacts, contracts and equipment from Excel or CSV, with a report of the rows that fail. Ticket history is not imported automatically: it is scoped as a project.

  3. Step 3

We reproduce the way you work

Groups, views, SLAs and automations. Macros become flows, which can also act outside the ticket.

  4. Step 4

    You connect your channels

Email, WhatsApp and phone. You work in parallel for a couple of weeks before cutting over.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep both?

Yes, they connect through the API. But most companies end up choosing one: having the same customer in two places is exactly what you wanted to avoid.

Is ticket history imported?

Customers, contacts, contracts and equipment, yes, from Excel or CSV. Ticket history from another program is not imported automatically: it is scoped as a project, depending on the volume and what is worth keeping.

Does attendo have a knowledge base?

Yes. Public and private FAQs, suggested to the agent while they type and to the customer when they open a ticket in the portal.

What about macros and automations?

They are rebuilt with attendo flows, which can also act outside the ticket: create the work order, call an API or send a WhatsApp notification.

Does the AI answer my customers on its own?

Not by default. marIA prepares the draft and a person sends it. Automatic answers based on your documentation come switched off, and you decide whether to turn them on.
