# attendo + Microsoft Teams

In many companies, the daily work is discussed in Teams. With this integration, what people write to the attendo bot reaches the Messaging inbox, the team handles it from attendo and links it to the document.

Status

- Teams as an inbox channel
- Replies from attendo
- Meetings from the document

attendo Microsoft Teams

- from Microsoft Teams to attendo **Messages to the attendo bot** They arrive as conversations
- from attendo to Microsoft Teams **Replies from your team** They reach the Teams chat, as text
- from attendo to Microsoft Teams **Teams meetings** Created from the document, with their link

## “Line 3 has stopped,” written in a chat

In maintenance, facility and corporate services companies, much of the daily work happens in Teams. The plant manager writes in a chat that something is broken, and that creates no document, has no deadline and leaves no history.

With this integration, those messages reach the attendo Messaging inbox, just like a WhatsApp message. The team accepts them, replies from attendo and creates or links the document.

## What it does, piece by piece

Teams comes into attendo as one more conversation channel, as text.

### One more conversation in the inbox

Each chat with the bot lands in Messaging with its queues, exclusive acceptance, transfer and internal notes.

### Replies from attendo

The agent replies in attendo and the message reaches the Teams chat. They do not need Teams open.

### Link to the document

From the conversation, a document is created or linked to an existing one, and the document links the thread.

### Each account, to its team

Teams conversations reach one person, several or a group, with their business line.

### Meetings from the document

The agent creates the Teams meeting from the document, in their own name, and the link stays on the record and in the customer’s activity.

### Outlook appointments

With the same connection, the appointments you propose read availability in Outlook and are created with their Teams meeting.

## What travels, and in which direction

Text travels through Teams. Meetings and appointments use the same Microsoft connection.

What travels between attendo and Microsoft Teams, in which direction and when

| Data | Direction | When |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Text messages to the bot | from Microsoft Teams to attendo | Instantly |
| Agent replies | from attendo to Microsoft Teams | On send, as text |
| Meeting: subject, time and link | from attendo to Microsoft Teams | When it is created from the document |
| Meeting cancellation | from attendo to Microsoft Teams | When it is canceled in attendo |
| Availability and appointment event | between attendo and Microsoft Teams, both ways | When appointments are offered and booked |

## How to get started

The text channel and meetings work with your Microsoft 365. Your Microsoft 365 administrator sets it up with us: the app registration, the bot and installing it in Teams.

Status

### What you need

- Microsoft 365 with Teams
- An app registered in Microsoft Entra ID and an Azure bot with the Teams channel
- The bot app installed in Teams for whoever is going to write to it
- For meetings, the application access policy and each agent with their Microsoft 365 user

**Typical effort.** Plan on your Microsoft 365 administrator: the registration, the bot and the installation in Teams are theirs.

### Step 1 · Azure

Your administrator creates the app registration and the bot, with the Teams channel turned on.

### Step 2 · Connection in attendo

You paste the app details, test the connection and register in Azure the messaging address that attendo gives you.

### Step 3 · Conversation routing

You choose who receives Teams conversations: one person, several or a group.

### Step 4 · Installation and test

Your administrator installs the bot app in Teams and someone writes to it to test the round trip.

## What it does not do

- **Notifications from attendo to Teams**
It does not post attendo notifications to Teams channels. Teams is a conversation channel: messages come in and are answered.
- **Documents from inside Teams**
There are no commands or buttons in Teams: the document is created from Messaging, in attendo.
- **Files**
  Only text travels through Teams.
- **Working the inbox from Teams**
Accepting, transferring or closing a conversation is done in attendo.
