attendo Business Central

- between attendo and Business Central, both ways **Customers, vendors and items** Each record is born in one place and reaches the other
- from attendo to Business Central **Quotes, orders and hours** What is prepared in attendo goes to the ERP
- from Business Central to attendo **Inventory and invoice number** The official data comes back to attendo

## The technician’s order, typed into the ERP again

Your back office lives in Business Central and your operations live in attendo. Without a connector, someone copies the new customer, the technician’s order and the month’s hours by hand. Every copy is a possible mistake and one more day before invoicing.

With the connector, each record is born in one place and reaches the other on its own. Business Central still issues, numbers and posts. attendo hands it what it needs to do so.

## What it does, piece by piece

Each area is turned on separately, with its direction and with the system that wins if a record changes on both sides. That double change is logged as a conflict. They all start switched off.

### Customers, vendors and contacts

They travel in the direction you choose. In the initial load they are matched by tax ID, email or code, and doubtful cases are reviewed by hand. After that, a company that arrives from Business Central and already exists in attendo is linked by its tax ID. If two share it, the link stops.

### Items and inventory

Items, categories and locations both ways. Inventory comes from Business Central, so the technician sees what is in stock.

### Sales and purchase documents

Quotes, orders, invoices and credit memos. Business Central recalculates taxes and totals, and attendo receives the amounts and the official PDF.

### Official invoice number

attendo prepares the draft and Business Central posts it. Once it is posted, its number and date come back to the attendo document.

### Projects and hours

Projects and logged hours, with each person matched to their Business Central employee.

### You decide what travels

With the attendo extension for Business Central, a checkbox on the customer, vendor or item card says what is synced. Unchecking it deletes nothing.

With the attendo extension installed in your environment, opportunities, project tasks, service orders and lots travel too, along with the agent tasks and calendar events you choose in Settings. Whatever changes on a document from Business Central goes on its timeline, with the old value and the new one.

## What travels, and in which direction

Changes in attendo go out within seconds, queued and with retries. Changes in Business Central arrive almost instantly and, as a safety net, in a check every 5 minutes.

## How to get started

The connector uses Microsoft’s official API. We get it live with you and test it in a Business Central sandbox before it touches your real company.

Status

### What you need

- Business Central online (SaaS)
- An app registered in Microsoft Entra ID, with your administrator’s consent
- That app added as a user in Business Central, with its permissions
- For the advanced areas and the sync checkbox, the attendo extension installed in your environment

**Typical effort.** There is work in three places: Entra ID, Business Central and attendo. What takes longest is deciding which system wins in each area and reviewing the initial load.

### Step 1 · Microsoft Entra ID

Your administrator registers the app, grants it access to the Business Central API and creates its secret.

### Step 2 · Business Central

You add the app as a user and, if you use it, install the attendo extension in your sandbox. If you already had it, the current version is installed.

### Step 3 · Areas and initial load

We turn the areas on one by one: customers, categories, items and documents. The initial load matches records without creating anything until you review it.

### Step 4 · Production

Once everything is tested in the sandbox, it is repeated in your real company. Changes travel queued, with retries.

## What it does not do

- **Your accounting**
It does not handle journal entries, payments or reconciliation: they stay in Business Central.
- **Issuing the invoice**
attendo prepares the draft. Business Central posts it and numbers it.
- **Business Central on your own servers**
The connector is for Business Central online. An on-premises installation needs an adaptation project.
- **Several companies or currencies**
Each connection works with one company and one currency.
- **Inventory by warehouse**
You get the overall stock of each item, without the breakdown by warehouse.
- **Price lists and taxes per line**
They stay in Business Central, which recalculates each document when it receives it and suggests its price for each line.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the attendo extension required?

No. Without it you get customers, vendors, contacts, items, categories, locations, inventory, documents, projects and hours. The extension adds opportunities, project tasks, service orders, lots, tasks and calendar, and the sync checkbox.

### Who issues the invoice?

Business Central. attendo is not an ERP or accounting software: it prepares what is billable, and the ERP posts, numbers and books it.

### What if Business Central does not respond?

Changes wait in a queue and are applied in order when it comes back. Whatever fails after several attempts stays visible, with the Business Central message, so you can retry it.

### Are documents renumbered?

No. The attendo number travels as the external document number, and the official invoice number comes back from Business Central.

### Does it work with Business Central on-premises?

Not without adaptation: the connector works with Business Central online. If your installation is on-premises, we assess it as a project.

### Can I have Business Central and another ERP at the same time?

Yes, each connector runs on its own. What you should avoid is syncing the same area with two ERPs.
